New Colors: VGS6E™ CAT 6 U/UTP No-Spline Plenum & Riser Rated Cable
Published: July 10, 2025

We just added black, gray, and yellow to our plenum-rated VGS6E™ CAT 6 no-spline cable lineup — giving you five total color options: blue, white, black, gray, and yellow.
New color options for the riser-rated version — including black, gray, and yellow — are on the way and expected to arrive soon. Blue and white are currently available.
These cables are available in both plenum (CMP) and riser (CMR) rated versions, packed in 1,000 ft Reelex™ pull boxes.
What Is VGS6E™ CAT 6 No-Spline?
This is our Category 6 U/UTP cable without the plastic spline (cross filler), which means:
- It’s faster to terminate
- It takes up less space in tight trays and bundles
- It still meets or exceeds CAT 6 standards — tested to 550 MHz
And it supports a wide range of Ethernet and PoE applications, including 10G (short distances), Gigabit, VoIP, video, and more.
Where to Use Each Version
Type | Use Case | Jacket Material | Cable Diameter | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Plenum (CMP) | Drop ceilings, ducts, HVAC return paths | FEP with PVC | 0.20" | Required in air-handling spaces |
Riser (CMR) | Walls, chases, between floors | HDPE with PVC | 0.22" | Cost-effective for non-plenum use |
Real-World Example
You’re wiring a school. You use riser cable for the vertical runs through the wall. Then, once you hit the ceiling space in each classroom, you switch to plenum cable to meet code. Need to track which is which? Color-code it with our new options.
Key Features
- No spline = faster terminations
- Supports PoE and PoE+
- Smaller diameter for easier routing
- Works with all standards-compliant jacks and panels
- Reelex™ pull box to reduce tangling on the job
